Named after the former Pasadena Independent School District Athletic Director, Weldon "Stoney" Phillips, the facility is the perfect venue for Championship Day for the Texas Invitational Basketball Tournament. |

Sam Rayburn High School |

As the Pasadena community continued its period of remarkable growth through the turbulent years of the 1960s, sparking the need for a third high school. Sam Rayburn High School opened in 1964 with an enrollment of 2,560 students. The Texans began building a tradition of academic and athletic excellence that increased the level of competition among the three schools. A $20 million renovation was completed in 2003 adding a new science wing, completely renovated the interior of the campus and upgraded technology throughout the school.

South Houston High School |

The Pasadena school district opened its second high school campus to accommodate the growth experience in the boom years following World War II. Opened in 1958, South Houston High School built upon the success of its sister school to create a new school culture serving the growing South Houston community. Additional classroom wings have been added over the years, including a $20 million renovation completed in 2003.

Dobie High School |

The new Dobie High School
was completed in 2003. It is located on a 77 acre site behind Moore Elementary and can house an estimated 3,000 students in a 490,000 square foot building. The building contains approximately 120 regular classrooms. Some other facilities in the school are three Gyms, a Band Hall, a Choir Room, an Orchestra Room, an Ag. Room, a Cosmetology Room, CAD, a Health Occupations Room, an Auto Tech Facility, a Dance and Drill Room, a Library, a Cafeteria and an Auditorium. There is also a large green house. The estimated cost of the new school was $57 million dollars (according to the PISD web site).
